Welcome Back from Reading Week!

So, I must apologize the lack of updates I’ve posted on the blog. It’s been a busy month and a bit since the postponement of a.rawlings’ workshop and reading which did occur on Thursday Feb. 17 and what a wonderful experience angela provided for the workshoppers and for those that attended her reading. All the best and thanks to angela for such an awesome day!

Now here is updates for the next few weeks:

Just reminding you that Jade’s workshops on Monday and Wednesday now no longer are happening. Helen, as of right now, is running her Wednesday workshop. Her Thursday workshop will now be run by me for the time being!

For the next two weeks we have some non-BUCWC events, but BUCWC related that you should all check out: on March 4th, a man by the name of Duncan is holding a reading at Fine Grind from 8pm-11pm. Here is the Facebook event page, he is still looking for
readers/performers:

On Tuesday March 8th, the ESA is holding Poetry Out Loud from 7pm-9pm at Sankey Chamber.

On Friday March 11 Niagara Artist’s Centre presents: The Bird is the Word featuring
Visual Art and Poetry installations by derek beaulieu, bill bissett, Judith Copithorne,
kevin mcpherson eckhoff, Marinko Jareb, Travis Kirton, Kelly Mark, Steve McCaffery,
a.rawlings, Laurel Woodcock ? Hallie Siegel & Matthew Donovan & Gregory Betts.
This should be a very exciting event to attend, and not to be missed. It starts at 8pm at
the NAC (Niagara Artist’s Centre) on St. Paul street. Here is the facebook page:

AND ONE LAST IMPORTANT MESSAGE:

We are nearing the end of the year which means CLUB ELECTIONS. I told you last semester to keep in mind if you would like to run for an exec position. All spots will be opened up. There is President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and 2 Editor positions. You can run for more than one position. What the process is like: we meet together, you present your speech (doesn’t have to be long) why you want this position, and why you should be whatever you are running for. The speeches are categorized by position, and if you are the only one running for a position, you win by default. It’s that easy! So start
thinking! The date has not been set, but will be in late March.

Phew!

Cheers,
Phil Miletic
